Church and exploring Upper Nice
Sunday, June 12.
Went to church today in the first ward building ever built in France. :) It's a pretty chapel in the upper parts of Nice.  It might be silly, but it felt really good to be in a real chapel for church. The ward was really nice. We were a group of 25 people and walked into church during the announcements. Everybody turned to look at us, the bishop was like, "Wow, a lot of visitors." and we all kind of laughed. Good times. Le Bras brother in law was there because his son is getting married this weekend, so we got to meet him and his wife/Le bras sister. Fun to see them tease each other. After church our class and Maddie went to the museum Mattise, but Maddie and I forgot our arts cards, so we couldn't get in without paying, so we opted to do it another day and to look around while the others went into the museum. I also forgot my phone, so any pictures of this day will be from others sent to me. Maddie and I had a good time, lovely bonding time exploring the surrounding area. There are some Roman ruins, a park and a monastery. I had told Carson where we were and to find us after they were done with the musee, for we had no way of communicating with them because I had forgotten my phone and Maddie's doesn't work. After a seemingly long time, we decided to go back to the musee and see if we could find them, but they weren't there and we didn't pass them on our way. Circumstances being as they were, we thought that they had given up and left without us. Right as we got on the bus, Carson jumps on behind us. He'd been looking for us and saw us get on. Good old Carson. The others had gone on ahead. We had an escort home. After we got back I took the time to get caught up on blogs and chilled with my roommies while listening to "The Prince of Egypt." It was a good day.
McKenna, Natalie, and Jessica are in the room across from us, so whenever we need each other or just want to be bothersome we're never far away. Makes planning things nice. I love my roommates. They like to cook for me and they put up with my craziness and random bursts of energy/laughter. I tend to do the cleaning because my tolerance is lower and they are blessed with my lovable personality, so we're all good.

This is our ward building in Nice. Sorry the top is cut off a bit.
We walked here from church because it's not far away at all.  These are some roman ruins of an arena near the musee. We had fun climbing on them. Awkward moment: you know that you're in France when a dude goes up to a wall and goes pee, then walks away like nothing out of the ordinary happened. Yea...Doesn't faze me as much as it used to, but I'm wary of walls now.
Le Musee Mattisse

Maddie running to the ruins. She was excited to climb on them.
Some roman ruin that we couldn't actually go explore, but saw from a difference.
Maddie and I exploring the Italian garden behind the monastery. It's quite beautiful and has an amazing view.

The Franciscan monastery. It's a beautiful church and has a cemetery to the left of it that we didn't get to explore, and the garden to the right.
