War and Peace...More Like Just War
We didn't have class today because our teacher had to do a field trip with another class. Darn, I got to sleep in and actually have time to do homework and take my exam. I really hate sharing him. At around lunch time McKenna and I decided to go back to the Musee de l'armee to see some sections that we didn't have time to see yesterday. We met up with Carson and Jessica. It was raining a lot today, so Natalie and Haley opted out of joining us. Apparently it was pouring when they started walking to the train station, so they decided to go another day. This time we explored the world wars section of the museum and history from Louis XIV-Napoleon 1. We were there for about three to four hours. I didn't take as many pictures today because I was absorbed in the exhibit and it was super depressing. I love learning about the world wars, but the subject matter is heart wrenching and the images and films that were captured can make a heartless person cry.  It's interesting to me to think about how people glorify war, but it really is a terrible thing. It seems that people tend to distance themselves from the awful truth of devastation that is war and just look at it as a game, the people aren't real, the consequences aren't real, it's just about winning. Terrible. Anyway, done with my rant. We still didn't finish the museum, but we decided that we needed a happier exhibit after two days of studying war. After the museum we went home to go shopping, and finish homework and the exam. The family was gone again for dinner today, which is too bad because we won't have dinner with them tomorrow because we're going to see Uchtdorf speak in Versailles, which means that we won't have had diner with them at all this week. It's too bad. It was good to have today not be so hectic so I could just focus on homework and taking the Exam. Now I've finished them. Go me! I still need to write my papers though...I'll get there. :) Not procrastinating at all.

This chair was used to carry the general stationed at Madagascar. I can imagine being carried in this thing. I'm pretty sure this chair was made for me. Yep.

These people had giant keys to fit their egos apparently. This key goes to the Alexander III fortress in Poland.

The cathedral where Napoleon's remains are laid. This chapel is kept separate from the Napoleon exhibit and is still in use.

Look at these awesome instruments that were used by the armies of France. I don't even know what that curvy one on the right is. I've never seen it before.
Look at these curvy guns! I don't know what the logic of these weapons are, but not judging. Also, the gun on top is a tall as Carson. Just saying. I feel short next to these weapons.
 Napoleon's camp.
Jessica and I decided that we would accept the burden of wearing this cloak. It's hard, but someone has to do it.
Again with the giant keys. :) Versailles  had giant keys too. I only know this because there were giant key holes in some of the doors. Can you imagine being the person in charge of locking and unlocking the doors? The king ring must be huge and quite heavy.
